The Entrepreneurial Center, University of Hartford and the Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance Program will sponsor a seminar which will provide an overview for companies considering bidding in the government marketplace. It will explore the necessary registrations associated with both federal and state contracting. It will identify where bids are found and how a company would respond to a solicitation. Since not every company wishes to bid directly, subcontracting opportunities will be explored. An overview of the various set-aside programs will be provided allowing businesses to determine if they are eligible for these programs, what are their advantages and then how to apply. The seminar will also touch on bidding at the municipal level. The seminar will be interactive to allow for an active exchange of questions and answers.
The seminar will be presented by Brien Robertson, Director of Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance Program (CT PTAP). The Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistant Program is one of the ninety-three assistance centers located throughout the United States. The Program is funded by grants from the CT Department of Economic & Community Development and from the Defense Logistics Agency. CT PTAP is a state-wide program.
