This seminar will be jointly conducted by Brien Robertson, Program Director, Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance Program and Mark C. Turcotte, Procurement Manager, City of Hartford & its’ Public Schools to provide an overview of the who, what and where of bidding on State and municipal contracts. The topics include necessary registrations, various prequalification processes, set-aside programs, surety issues, understanding the State’s bid portal and reviewing various bid formats. The seminar will also focus on the City of Hartford’s purchasing and contracting practices that will give companies some insight into unique procedures that cities and towns establish in procuring goods and services. The seminar is intended to be interactive with the participants asking questions and discussing topics as they arise.
Metered on-street parking is available or park in the lot behind the Baptist Church across the street from the Library. Enter the Library at the Arch Street entrance (to the right at the back of the building), as the Library does not open to the public until 10 AM and the Main Street door will be locked. The security guard will know that there is a scheduled seminar. Take the stairs or elevator to the main floor, turn right, take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. The Seminar Room is on the second floor to the left, if you use the stairs. Participants should plan to come early and pay for parking.
