Presenter:

Ari Santiago is the founder, CEO, And President of IT Direct, a Hartford based technology services firm that helps businesses harness the power of technology to achieve their business goals. The company has been awarded honors such as Inc. Magazine’s annual list of America’s 5000 Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies for the last five years; MSP Mentor’s Top 200 in North America and Top 501 Worldwide lists for the best Managed Service Providers.; Ingram Micro SMB 500, the top 500 small and medium business focused solution providers; Marcum Tech Top 40 for the top 40 fastest growing IT companies in CT; and Inc. Magazine’s 50 Best Places to Work in the U.S.

Ari Santiago began his technology career early, following a life-changing skiing accident that left him paraplegic. As an athlete who dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, Ari had to redefine his life’s vision -  a tough prospect at a young age. Ari was lucky, though, he had parents who believed in him and a family friends who gave him his first computer while he was rehabilitating. He discovered he had an unforeseen aptitude with computers, which quickly grew into a passion.

Before founding IT Direct, Ari had started 4 different computer-oriented businesses – the first, at age 14, building and selling computers in his spare time.  Although these business ventures did not lead to great success, they eventually led him to running the IT Department for an environmental engineering firm. It was during this stint as an IT Director that Ari realized an outsourced IT department could drive more value for small and mid-sized businesses than an internal team could. So, he outsourced his own job - to himself - and began IT Direct. This foresight into IT as a business strategy has allowed him to build IT Direct into what it is today: an award winning and recognized leader in the IT management industry.

Ari Santiago has been an advocate for and speaker on all technology topics from business strategy to cybersecurity. He has been awarded the Hartford Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award and has been chosen as a board and committee member for organizations around Greater Hartford, such as the Connecticut Technology Council, the Manufacturing and Aerospace in Connecticut Advisory Council and the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford.
